Playing with controlled aggression, Hire seems to be a highly technical defender with an incredibly high ceiling. Hire touts a bent knee stance of a college aged defender and always approaches with his full stick length. Continuously keeping his stick in offensive players gloves he forces turnovers without having to throw checks(0:29). Hire also shows strength off the ground and in transition due to his silky stickwork. He can pick up Tough GBs in tight spaces and break away from defenders quickly(1:09). Despite being smaller than an average close defender Hire shows great strength on ball and can move offensive players. With time to grow, Hire could become a strong leader on many D1 rosters.
The level of maturity shown by Stoller in net is that of a College aged player. With a near perfect stance he is able to seemingly take up the entire net and discourage would-be shooters. Stoller seems to have incredibly smooth hands, and is great at making a clean save and getting the ball up fast(1:06). His outlet passes are never rushed or forced as he drops the ball in windows that other goalies can't. Stoller’s Maturity also presents itself in the way he resets after loose ball save situations. Stoller looks to be a player who will graduate HS and make an immediate impact at the collegiate level.
Operating out of the midfield, Whaling sports some jaw dropping change of direction moves that typically result in a turn and rake for the opposing keeper. Possessing top level footwork at high speeds he is able to turn on a dime and leave defenders scratching their heads(0:40). Whaling looks comfortable all over the field dodging. Whether it be from the high wing or sweeping across the top if Whaling is able to get his hands free on the run it is always a good look(4:33). All this accompanied with Whaling’s high level stick skills and the ability to play both ways make him a top D1 prospect.
Shapiro is reminiscent of a quarterback while playing on the offensive end. Demonstrating the IQ to determine when to go for himself and when to distribute. Drawing the eyes of the defense while maintaining his vision Shapiro can easily find the open man(1:37). As a shooter he is equally as lethal. Shapiro has demonstrated he has the ability to make tough finishes inside as well as on the run. He can make a defender miss with a textbook hitch, bury a shot on the run, and look pretty doing(2:10). Shapiro has also shown that with time and room he can bury almost any shot from range. Shapiro showcases impressive skills for being young and should be popping up on coaches radars.
Luger seems to be a perfect midfielder for the adapting game, as he shows just as much prowess with the ball in his stick as he does without. He is very athletic and has great stickwork which shows on both ends of the field. Given a short stick match up Luger is never afraid to go to the cage(2:04). However the best part of Luger’s game shows in his ability as a SSDM. Technically sound in his stance, Luger stands defenders up who try to isolate him as a match up(1:06). He also has the legs to push the clear and create easy transition opportunities. Also boasting a strong outside shot Luger seems to be a top prospect.
