This past weekend, Apex Lacrosse Events hosted the Apex Girls Goalie Showcase at Capelli Sports Complex in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Over 60 players attended, hailing from 14 different states! The showcase was open to 2022-2026s, but age was not a determinant in the talent level that was shown on Sunday. The day was fast-paced, and a great experience for those looking to achieve utmost greatness in the cage.

The event was led by Directors Gussie Johns, Molly Wolf, and Meagh Graham, all of whom brought something different to the table throughout the showcase. Gussie bestowed her goalie-knowledge on the players with her elite programming that consisted of various drills and goalie games to challenge each and every player. Meagh Graham made a lasting impact with her enthusiastic, yet stern coaching style, while Molly Wolf gave her own goalie tips and tricks, all while throwing absolute snipes at the net during Queen of the Cage.

While all players exceeded expectations, we wanted to highlight two girls in specific that proved to be outstanding. Christina Strakes, a 2025 goalie for CT Grizzles, was the “Queen of the Cage” in the final competition of the showcase. She went head-to-head with Orly Sedransk, the MVP of the Goalie Showcase, in a shot-for-shot save battle. Christina’s save percentage during the final event was unmatched. Although Orly fell short by just a few saves, she ultimately took home the MVP award at the end of the showcase. All coaches felt that Orly’s style of play and her fierce, competitive nature, made her the Most Valuable Player (Goalie).

We want to thank everyone for joining us for what turned out to be an incredible experience for all. As a reminder, we are now accepting applications for the Apex Girls Fall Goalie Showcase. See you in September.
