All Star Team White MVP's

Lou Chicatelli, 2024, LSM, Albany Power, Niskayuna

Chicatelli looked in top form last week as he was dominate on the defensive end.  As technically sound as they come Chicatelli plays with controlled aggression. He is a ballhawk type defender always pestering ball carriers hands with strong and consistent checks. Chicatelli plays in a sound bent knee stance never seeming to put himself out of position. He is athletic and able to play physical if offensive players try to put a shoulder into him. Great stick handling and clean off the ground Chicatelli looks to be someone to keep your eye on in the coming years.

Charlie Ruvinsky, 2025, Attack, Express North, New Canaan Country School

The strong lefty was able to will his way to the goal rep after rep last week at Apex 60. When Ruvinsky gets a full head of steam it is very hard to move him off his line. Ruvinsky does a great job of getting into his defender and closing the gap. He uses his frame to protect his stick and his top level speed to blow by his match up.  Ruvinsky does extremely well at the 5x5 spot able to push underneath or top side successfully.  His vision is top tier as he was able to identify slides and find the open man. Look for Ruvinsky to fill out into his frame, and become a very scary attacker to match up against.

Dillion Licht, 2025, Midfield, Albany Power, Niskayuna

Licht was on his game last week at Apex 60, and managed to have a stellar performance in the All Star game. Licht is a shifty midfielder with some slick stick work to boot. He touts some strong change of direction moves that can leave defenders scratching their heads. He has a smooth and technical shot that seemed to always find the back of the net. Licht seems to have a high motor as his pace of play never dropped throughout the week. With time to develop, Licht can turn into a serious threat on the offensive end of the field.

Jack Kidder, 2024, Midfield, 2Way, Iona Prep

Kidder came to play at Apex 60, and put himself on the map with a top level performance. A strong and physical midfielder Kidder has the ability to run past you or run through you. Able to play at a high level with both hands Kidder is tough to guard as he can play from just about anywhere on the field.  Kidder has great acceleration, and combined with some slick change of direction moves he is hard to stop. On the defensive end he is no slouch, able to get pieces and clear the ball through multiple riders. Kidder looks to be an impact player at the high school level at a very young age.

Matthew Giannetti, 2025, Defense, Predators, Rye

Giannetti is as textbook of a defender as they come. He plays in a strong bent knee stance always approaching the ball carrier using the length of his stick and under control. Giannetti can throw a flurry of hard hitting checks without losing body position. He has a high pace while playing defense as he was frequently pushing out to the sideline on offensive players. Giannetti does a great job off the ground and has top level stickwork, all that being said this is a player your going to be seeing making some big time plays in the coming years.

Thomas Sheumack, 2025, Defense, Predators, Bronxville HS

Sheumack is a technical defender who does a great job of forcing the offensive player to beat him rather than making mistakes. Never pushing out too far, Sheumack can stay in offensive players hands without giving up positioning, and he does so by playing good angles. He can press out and play physical always keeping players where he wants them. Sheumack demonstrated strength at GLE with great turns and the ability to drive ball carriers out towards the sideline. He showed off some great stick work, and seems to be the whole package as a leader on the defensive end.

Max Kukuy, 2025, Midfield, FTK/ Silverbacks, Isadore Newman School

Kukuy is a straight up playmaker, and he was doing it all over the field at Apex 60. He can beat you in so many different ways due to his size and athleticism. Kukuy is dynamic in the sense that he can play with finesse just as well as he can play physically. Whether he uses some slick change of direction or plays physical and gets into his defender he always seemed to draw a slide out of the defense. Throw in his high motor and work ethic into the mix and Kukuy seemed like a player that never seemed to give up. Those kind of qualities make Kukuy a very special player, and one to keep an eye on.

All Star Team Blue MVP's

Mark McMahon, 2024, Midfield, Carolina Miners, Charlotte Catholic

McMahon is a do it all midfielder who never backed down from a match up last week. He is as athletic as they come, and it showed all over the field. He is a dynamic dodger with strong change of direction moves that left defenders on skates. McMahon has top level stick work and speed that allow him to play at a very high pace. Top level speed makes him great in the clearing and transition game. McMahon is a flat out baller, and he seems to have an extremely high ceiling to work with.

AJ True, 2024, Goalie, 4 Leaf, St. Pauls School

True was a field general commanding his defense with constant communication at Apex 60 in Bel Air. He is fundamentally sound, but is able to make some jaw dropping athletic saves that looked all but lost. True played his angles very well and did a great job of taking up space in net to limit shooters chances. A strong and swift top hand punch followed by a quick step to the ball is routine for true while he is net. Throw in his ability to see the field on clears and hit streaking midfielders for transition, and True looks to be a future leader in the net.

Sebastian Rzeczycki, 2024, Attack, NJLC, Princeton Day School

Rzeczycki played the quarterback role at Apex 60 last week, and he did so confidently. Rzeczycki typically operated from behind the net, and being able to play in both hands made him a tough match up for almost any defender. He sets up behind and blows past defenders with a simple yet effective change of direction move, but he never drops his head down. Once he closes in on GLE he does a great job recognizing early if he should take it himself or feed the open man. He rarely didn't finish an opportunity,  and seemed to ride hard to get the ball back if he did. Rzeczycki looks like a player ready to make big waves when the spotlight turns to him in a few seasons.

Ethan Jaffe, 2024, Goalie, Denver Elite, Denver South

Although he played with and against some top notch talent, Jaffe seemed to be one of the most athletic players on the field. Jaffe is explosive in net and was able to pull off some eye grabbing saves. He is patient in net always waiting for the right time to make a play on the ball, but when he did he attacked it with speed and precision. Jaffe was lights out inside as he showed tremendously fast reaction time to shots coming low, even able to make a couple of pretty split saves. Jaffe has great footwork and technique, and at a young age he looks to have a bright future ahead of him in net.

Thomas Keating, 2025, Defense, Jersey Express, Vorhees

Keating plays a physical and athletic style of defense, and he was on his game at Apex 60.  Playing with great body position and a strong base Keating can get into Offensive players without losing a step. He is strong and aggressive on the ball sometimes physically moving ball carriers with a strong crosscheck punch. Keating plays with a smart stick and throws the perfect amount of checks able to dislodge the ball frequently. His stick handling and game sense are both very impressive making him a serious threat in the transition game. Keating looks to have all the makings of a tough lockdown defender.

Bryce Johnson, 2024, Midfield, Blue Star, Jackson Hole Community School

Johnson is a dynamic midfielder with a heater of a shot that kept goalies puzzled all week long at Apex 60.  Johnson is a high IQ player able to realize situations fast and make split second decisions on the offensive end. If he sees a matchup he showed no fear in going after it, and putting the ball in the back of the net. He has some shifty change of direction moves, but also has the ability to embrace contact and shoot around defenders. Johnson did a great job of putting himself in prime shooting spots to be the one more pass. From those spots Johnson let the ball fly from multiple release points making him a difficult shooter to predict. Johnson looks hungry and ready to make a name for himself over the next couple of seasons.
