All Star Team White MVP's

Micah Hanson, 2022, Faceoff, Team Alpha, Wisconsin Heights HS

Hanson was dominant at the X in the all star game at Apex 60. He is a tough hard nosed player who never seemed to give up on a draw. Hanson has a strong top hand punch and rotates well into the ball. When he wins the clamp he does a great job of finding clean exits, and has the legs to push the break. Hanson has great stickwork and vision so when he gets into the offensive zone he did a stellar job with hitting open shooters or pushing it for himself. He is a fighter whenever there was a loose ball Hanson would fight to get possession for his team. Hanson is a grinder and looks ready to compete at the collegiate level.

Zachary Bleil, 2022, Midfield, Express North, Hopkins School

Once he got downhill with a head of steam Bleil was hard to stop at Apex 60. He is a strong lefty dodger with some insane top level speed. Bleil typically dodges from the high wings, and it was hard for defenders to get hands on him. shooting on the run came easy for Bleil as he does a great job of getting his hands back and letting shots fly while in full stride. Not limited to shots on the run Bleil performs just as well off ball whether its step downs from range or finding pockets in the defense he can finish from just about anywhere. Defensively he is just as strong able to get pieces on dodgers with strong crosschecks. Athletic, Great size, and High IQ make Bleil a scary player to come across in between the lines.

All Star Team Orange MVP's

Aidan Swartz, 2022, Defense, Team Carolina, Cannon School

The recent Salisbury commit, Swartz continued his dominance at Apex lacrosse events at Apex 60 in Bel Air. Swartz Played aggressive all over the field, and didn't lose a step in the process. He is about athletic as they come when he pressures the ball, using the full length of his stick on approach he was hard to get away from. Swartz throws precise and strong checks frequently able to dislodge the ball. Off ball he displayed High IQ clogging passing lanes, and strong help defense on the backside. Swartz looks ready to step onto the salisbury campus and become an impact player.

Logan Murphy, 2022, Midfield, Rip It Lacrosse, William H. Hall High School

Murphy is about as athletic as they come from the midfield position. He fits well into the growing role of the two way Midfielder. Offensively Murphy is sharp with both hands and is able to make some strong change of direction moves that left defenders scratching their heads.  Hard to stop once he got a full head of steam there wasn't a matchup that he didn't feel comfortable going at. Defensively he is tough on the ball, and he does a great job of making himself an easy option in the clear. Add in his top level stick skills and Murphy seems to be a dangerous player.

Honorable Mention

Sergio Romero, 2022, Attack, FTK National, St. Paul's HS

Romero made his way into the all star game with some stellar play at Apex 60,  and he continued to do so once the game kicked off. During the all star game Romero showed off his athleticism in full force. When handling the ball he shows off some serious change of direction moves able to freeze defenders in their tracks. Romero has a high heat shot that he can bring any way he wants. He can go underhand and sidearm as easily as he can go with the technical overhand.  When riding Romero showed his hustle as he always fought to get the ball back for his team. All in all Romero made some big time impressions in front of the attending college coaches.

Rudy Zarate, 2022, Goalie, Stickstar, St. Marys Hall Houston

Zarate capped off a top tier summer by making the all star game at Apex 60. He is one of the most technically sound and patient goalies that came to the event. Zarate touts a picture perfect stance, broken down and presenting little net for shooters.  Zarate waits for the ball to come to him and was frequently stuffing inside finishes with his lightening fast hands. His outlets were always on the money hitting midfielders in stride, and creating transition in the process. Zarate will be a great leader in net at the collegiate level.
