Lacrosse is back in full swing, and Apex National Fall Showcase is just around the corner. Players have been grinding all summer to improve their game and it culminates here in front of some big time college coaches. As things are seemingly getting back to normal we are happy to be welcoming Canadian players back into the states to compete. College Coaches are back and ready for action this weekend and we couldn't be more excited to see the talented players showing up this weekend. This is a list of some standout players that seem ready to show up big time down in Bel Air, MD this weekend and deserve some recognition.

Koen Block, 2023, Attack, Victoria Junior Shamrocks, Royal Bay Secondary

Block is a dominant ball carrier and looks super confident making plays on the offense end. He is explosive and physical able to make finesse change of direction moves while maintaining the ability to put his shoulder down and create space. Block has great stick skills able to bait defenders and hit open shooters on the backside. Looking primed to have a strong showing on the offensive end Block is ready to make some big time plays in front of college coaches.

JD Landstrom, 2023, Defense, Team Minnesota, Minnetonka HS

Landstrom looked to be rounding out his summer in top form, and is ready to continue his success coming down for Apex National Fall Showcase.  He plays in a textbook stance with top tier footwork able to push ball carriers to angles where he is most successful. Landstrom always plays with the full length of his stick able to dislodge the ball by being patient in offensive players hands. Clean off the ground and able to push transition with speed Landstrom also adapts well to the LSM role. Physical, High IQ, and patient Landstrom looks ready to put himself on the map this weekend down in Bel Air, MD.

Kade Hoogstraten, 2023, Attack, Royal Bay Lacrosse Academy, Royal Bay Secondary

Hoogstraten is a tough physical attacker who isn't afraid to get downhill and initiate contact. He is a strong lefty able to create separation with contact, and get shots off on the run just as well as he can with his feet set. Off ball he is just as strong able to place himself in prime shooting spots. Hoogstraten never stops moving his feet in the offense always cutting and positioning himself in pockets of the defense where he can be the biggest threat. Always seeming to put away opportunities on the offensive end Hoogstraten is someone to look out for this upcoming weekend.

DJ Cook, 2023, Midfield, 2Way, Brunswick School

Cook is a spark plug type of player on the field able to make game changing plays on both ends. Offensively Cook is athletic able to pull off some incredible change of direction moves and showcase great first step speed. He can operate from multiple areas on the offensive end making him a threat from just about anywhere. Cook has great range and shooting ability, and can place the ball well with top speed. Defensively he is physical on the ball and exceptional in the clear game. A dynamic playmaker Cook looks ready to have a successful weekend in front of a lot of top tier college coaches.

Grayson Manning, 2024, Goalie, Royal Bay Lacrosse Academy, Royal Bay Secondary

Manning is the only 2024 on our list and for good reason, as he has been lights out in net in the summer and looks ready to make big time plays at  Apex Fall National showcase. Manning has a strong stance and takes up a lot of net providing little to no room for shooters to pick their spots.  He does a great job of resetting on rebounds and getting back in between his pipes. His game is hallmarked by his quick hands and explosive step to the ball. Manning does a great job with rebound control and getting the ball up the field on the clear. Manning may be young, but he is a special player and someone to keep an eye.
