The Apex 60, Apex Girl’s most elite, high level recruiting event of the summer featured 70+ college coaches in 2023. With Athletes from over 30 states, 150 clubs and 2 countries joined together at Cedar Lane Regional Park in Bel Air, MD for 2 days of high level lacrosse. This event showcased the top talent in a competitive, fun, and inclusive environment.
Day 1 kicked off bright and early with a fitness combine test brought to the athletes by Apex Partner, Healthy Baller. Healthy Baller led a select group of players through a dynamic warm up and then a series of tests focusing on speed and agility. The following athletes scored the highest in each tested category:
5-10-5 : Caroline Mellon
40 Yard Dash : Alexa Koerckel
10 Yard Dash : Keeley Mohling
Vertical Jump : Gigi Lisaius
Broad Jump : Carson Kroll
At the Apex 60 we like to remind participants that not only are they here to work hard, but to have fun and make friends, this is lifelong networking! With that, athletes were off to their stations having the opportunity to work with each and every college coach on that first day in skill and drill coaching breakdowns. By the end of the first day athletes were ready to rest up with legs and get hydrated for a long day of competition on day 2.
Senior and Junior players jumped eagerly back on the fields for the first game at 8am. Coaches were eager to see these athletes in a game setting after having coached them throughout the day yesterday. Coaches did not miss a beat with sidelines lined on either side, either coaching up the teams or taking notes. Not only were coaches taking notes but college level evaluators were also sure to mark down Apex All American potential athletes as they watched through day 1 and day 2. The select group of athletes participating in Apex All American evaluations received a full report on their performance and the possible opportunity to be named an Apex All American. This is one of the highest honors to be received in the Apex world considering that each of the elite athletes go through an application process to be accepted and then onsite evaluations for a chance to be recognized. If you missed out on this summer’s national recruiting event, you have a chance to join us this fall at the Fall National on October 14 & 15th back at Cedar Lane Regional Park in Bel Air, MD. Players will have another opportunity to be evaluated for the Apex All American team at this event as well.
