Last week on June 24th & 25th, Apex Lacrosse Events hosted the Girls Apex 60 Summer Showcase at Cedar Lane Regional Park in Bel Air, Maryland. With over 130 athletes and 22 college coaches in attendance, all involved knew they were in for some action-packed days of lacrosse. Players from all over the country, as far as Washington state, joined other players from the East Coast to compete at the highest level in front of family and eager college programs. All age groups, ranging from rising 9th graders to rising seniors, were overly impressive during both the skill sessions and gameplay on Friday. Thursday was skills and drills at the speed and pace of the collegiate level and Friday was game play where all players could showcase their new skills in front of the coaches who taught and directed.
After two days of gauntlet style lacrosse, two all-star teams were selected to showcase their skills in front of a line of coaches and end the event with a fast paced 30 minute game, two 14 minute halves. Both teams consisted of thirteen field players and two goalies. Each player was awarded a limited Apex 60 hat and a Nike All-Star shirt.

While all players absolutely crushed expectations, we want to highlight our Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Goalie from the showcase. College coaches and staff closely eyed players on both Thursday and Friday to ultimately crown the Apex 60 MVP & MVG at the conclusion of Friday’s gameplay. McAllister Salter (bottom left), a 2024 goalie for BBL North, was on FIRE in the cage. An absolute force to be reckoned with, McAllister impressed our guest coach and Tewaaraton finalist, Taylor Moreno to levels we couldn’t imagine. She was outstanding at the low game and cleared on a dime while on the move. Annie Small (bottom right), a 2023 midfielder for Iron Horse, was on everyone’s radar throughout the entire showcase. She is quick and efficient in transition and has a college IQ on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Annie  battled it out with every other player for two days and ultimately won the title.
We want to thank everyone for joining us for what turned out to be an incredible two days! We are so happy to be back enjoying the nice weather and witnessing some top-notch lacrosse. As a reminder, we are now accepting applications for the Apex Fall Goalie Showcase, Apex Fall Showcase, and Apex Futures!
See you this Fall.
