Jayson Alexander, 2021, Goalie, Team 91 Carolina, Middle Creek HS

Taking up most of the cage with his large frame standing at 6’4, Alexander looked seasoned in net this Sunday in Greensboro. He presented limited opportunities for shooters by eliminating open net in his strong stance. Anything up top for Alexander Looks like clockwork, but where he really shines is his athleticism(0:41). Alexander showed off some crazy split saves sunday that left shooters scratching their heads. His communication never seemed to drop during the day of the event, and was a natural leader among a group of top level players. Alexander Seems on track to be an impact player at the D1 level, and has all the intangibles to be successful there.

Michael Kuligowski, 2022, Faceoff, Cavalier, Langley HS

Kuligowski was getting a lot of praise from his attackman this Sunday because fast breaks were happening almost every whistle. Kuligowski has quick and powerful hands at the X that allow him to get clean exits. He is tough on ground balls, always getting his backhand down and running through the ball.  When pushing transition Kuligowski always made the right read on the break whether hitting the point man or ripping a shot past the keeper. He looks ready to step into a competitive D1 practice and perform well.

Parker Byrd, 2021, Midfield, Bucktown, Christ School

Evaluators and coaches had high praise for Byrd on Sunday noting his “craftiness and skill”. Byrd did a little bit of everything in Greensboro whether it was pulling off tight feeds, cutting off the ball, or just taking it to the rack himself he was able to find success. Operating from behind the cage and the low wing Byrd can get up to top speed quite quickly. His versatility comes from his ability to maintain his high skill level at full speed. Byrd pulled off some great feeds inside while in his top gear demonstrating high acuity with his vision of the field.  Off ball Byrd did a fantastic job of making himself available by following slides and drifting into soft spots in the D. Byrd has room to work on defense, but his offensive prowess and game sense should make him a great pickup for any successful program.

Bryce Wojnovich, 2021, Midfield, Bucktown, Cardinal Gibbons

Wojnovich came to play this Sunday, and was making highlight plays all over the field. His athleticism spoke for itself  when he was splitting double teams and making some incredible shots. Wojnovich excels at getting separation out of change of direction dodges with an insanely fast burst of speed making  him a lethal redodger. He probed defenders waiting for one slip in positioning before stopping on a dime and blowing right past them. He brings the heat with a strong overhand shot. Wojnovich’s athleticism carries over to the defensive end where he is physical and has non stop hustle. Wojnovich is a perfect fit for any D1 team looking for a workhorse two way midfielder who will always put out for his team.

Mitchell Scott, 2021, Attack, NC Fusion, Milton HS

Scott was always in the right spot this weekend and coaches and evaluators took notice(0:46). Off ball Scott never stopped moving and put himself in prime shooting spots. His ability isn’t limited to inside finishing as he can spot up from deep with precision(0:47). Typically dodging from Behind cage and the low wing Scott had exceptional stick protection Sunday that led to some crazy finishes. With continued growth and development Scott can definitely be an impact player at the D1 level.

Hunter Bisbee, 2023, Attack, NC Fusion, Grimsley HS

Bisbee looks to still be in top form after his MVP performance at Apex 60. In Greensboro Bisbee played to form and was confident with the ball in his stick. Bisbee stepped right into a quarterback role during Sunday’s game and was lethal all over the field. His high lax IQ was noted by evaluators as he always seems to know exactly how the defense would react to him blowing past a defender. Always keeping his head up he made plays with his feet and dished the ball when shooters were open. Bisbee continues to impress and looks like a guy any D1 program would love to have leading their attack unit.

Ryan Craig, 2021, Attack, SoCal Bulls, Mission Hills

Hailing from California, Craig showed up on the east coast ready to ball out. He went after defenders with no fear all over the field. His strength on the offensive end comes from his ability to use his body to create space. Craig initiates contact and forces the defenders hand. Accelerating out of contact Craig was dialed in shooting on the run Sunday. Craig excelled at changing the level and release points of his shots keeping goalies guessing all day. He is athletic and has great top end speed in the open field making him versatile enough to play both attack and midfield. D1 coaches should start taking notice of this gem from our west.

Grady Sherrill, 2022, Attack, NC Fusion, Page HS

Evaluators described Sherrill as a “swiss army knife” on Sunday in Greensboro, and the description fit the bill. Sherrill was gritty' of the wings and came up with tough GB’s all day. He seems to have all the characteristics of a D1 SSDM who can contribute in early offense. When pushing transition he had the IQ  and decision making to make the right call and either dish to the point man or take the space given to him. Sherill is no slouch in settled offense, as he continuously keeps his feet moving off the ball making cuts to draw defenders away or free himself up in shooting spots. With great spatial awareness all over the field Sherrill is a constant threat and should be popping up on coaches radar.

Kavin Wood, 2022, Attack, Bucktown, Cary Academy

Wood made a habit of drawing a slide Sunday with how often he was getting by defenders. Athletic enough to dodge at any spot on the field wood impressed evaluators with his ability to create space on the split dodge. Capable of going with either hand wood caused trouble when he had defenders isolated with space. Once he was drawing early defensive slides he did a great job of keeping his head up and finding the open man. Wood looks to be a great pick up for any competitive D1 Program.

Reid Betner, 2022, Defense, Midwest Express, Cathedral HS

Capable of pressuring guys all over the field, Betner looks to be a guy whose motor never runs out. Opposing players dealt with Betner constantly in their hands all sunday. He never seemed to over pursue or put himself out of position while pestering offensive players. Betner approached in an athletic stance and always had his full stick length in front of him. He is clean of the ground and looks extremely comfortable in transition play. Clearing looks to come naturally for Betner as he has a great stick and break away speed in the open field. Betner has the athleticism and skill to fit well into an LSM role at the D1 Level.

Ian Evans, 2022, Defense, Bucktown, Cardinal Gibbons

An Apex evaluator in Greensboro wrote a couple words that accurately embody how Evans played Sunday, “mean, heardnosed, and beast”. Evans played extremely well on the ball with excellent positioning and footwork. He seemed to always take the write angles and on approaches and was relentless on the ball. Evans was noted for doing a great job of keeping offensive players between his hands and in check. Evans pulled off some tough GB’s throughout the day, sometimes in heavy traffic.Evans possesses a high IQ and good attitude making him an ideal D1 level cover guy.

Aidan Swartz, 2022, Defense, Team Carolina, Cannon School

As the college game evolves the role of the LSM has does too. Swartz exemplifies how lethal a pole with great handles and an understanding of transition offense can do(0:36). Swartz looks comfortable taking the ball up the field whether it be off a clean pick up or streaking down the field on an outlet pass. He had an aggressive stick on Sunday, but never put himself out of position while throwing some heavy checks. Swartz motor never seemed to drop as he pressured offensive players all over the field. Combine his athleticism with his great footwork and Swartz looks to be a great pick up for any D1 team looking to bolster their wing play

Clay Matthews, 2022, Defense, Bucktown, St. David’s School

Before the first whistle blew to start games on Sunday, Matthews caught evaluators eyes  just off his level of communication in the skills sessions. Matthews is everything you want in a leader on the defensive end. He provided constant communication all day that was audible from almost anywhere on the field. He has great range to back up some well timed checks. Matthews never seemed to over pursue on the ball, always applying the perfect amount of pressure to deter offensive players. Off the ball he always had his stick in passing lanes and was positioned well on the help side. With Continued Development Matthews can definitely be a guy you see take the field for a competitive D1 team in the future.

Corby Tecu, 2022, Midfield, 3D Colorado, Erie HS

Towering over the competition, Tecu has all the intangibles of a D1 midfielder. Standing at 6’2 and weighing 205 pounds Tecu is hard to stop once he has a full head of steam. Typically elevating outside the box before a dodge, Tecu cuts right to the chase and does a great job of getting downhill on his dodges. Despite his large frame Tecu is very athletic and has great breakaway speed. Tecu can pull shots on the run as well as he can spot up in open space making him tough to defend on approach.

Aaron Jones, 2022, Defense, Richmond Hawks, Lafayette HS

The first note on one of Jones' evaluation sheets mentioned his “non stop effort”. Jones played hard and physical on the ball all Sunday, imposing his will on offensive players. He had great approaches, always taking the correct angle funneling the offensive player into low percent shooting spots. Jones is physical and excelled in ground ball scrums always fighting to get his team possession of the ball. Jones’ communication never faltered throughout the day and he seemed to be a natural leader on the defensive end. Work on his footwork and offhand will should make Jones a solid pick up for D1 programs.

Caden Zadell, 2022, Attack, Niedermeyer, Cardinal Gibbons HS

Zadell may be small in size, but the energy he brings to the offensive end is huge. His feet never seem to stop moving with or without the ball. Zadell showed out sunday with some impressive change of direction moves that had defenders tripping over their own feet. Exceptional at changing the release point of his shot Zadell always kept the goalies guessing. Where Zadell shines is his ability to maintain his vision throughout his high speed dodges. After drawing a slide Zadell is exceptional at finding the open man and delivering accurate feeds to shooters' sticks. What Zadell lacks in stature he more than makes up for in effort and skill, and that makes him a great recruit for any high paced D1 offense.
